Jay Rhame joined Reaves Asset Management in 2005 and was named Chief Executive Officer in January 2019. Previously he served as a telecommunications, energy, and utility analyst. Jay also is a co-portfolio manager of the Reaves Utility Income Fund and the Virtus Reaves Utilities ETF. In June 2021, Jay was appointed to serve as President of the Reaves Utility Income Fund. He is a member of the portfolio review and risk management committees.
Jay received a B.A. from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and is a CFA Charterholder.
John Bartlett joined Reaves Asset Management in 1995. He was named President of the firm in July 2019. John is a co-portfolio manager of the Reaves Utility Income Fund and co-manages the Virtus Reaves Utilities ETF. He also specializes in the equity analysis of utilities companies.
John received a B.A. from Connecticut College and is a CFA Charterholder.
Tim Porter joined Reaves Asset Management in 2004. Effective January 2020, Tim was named the firm’s Chief Investment Officer. He is the lead portfolio manager of the Reaves Infrastructure Fund, co-manager of the Reaves Utility Income Fund, co-manages accounts on several of the firm’s SMA retail platforms, and serves as a research analyst specializing in energy. He also serves on the portfolio review and risk management committee.
Before joining Reaves, Mr. Porter was co-manager of a market-neutral energy strategy at Millennium Partners. Previously he served as an analyst at Circle–T Partners and HSBC Asset Management in New York. He started his career at Refco Inc. as a commodity research analyst.
Tim received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Geneseo and is a CFA Charterholder.
Brian Weeks joined Reaves Asset Management in 2012. He serves as the firm’s Director of Research. Brian is co-portfolio manager of the Reaves Infrastructure Fund and co-manages accounts on several of the firm’s SMA retail platforms.
Brian came to Reaves with analytical experience from both the public and private sectors. He worked as a business analyst at the Federal Communications Commission (“FCC”), where he was a member of the U.S. National Broadband Plan Taskforce. Prior to joining the FCC, Brian was an investment associate at Boston Ventures Management, and an equities research associate at Thomas Weisel Partners.
Brian received an undergraduate degree from Harvard College and an MBA degree from Columbia University.
William A. Ferer joined Reaves Asset Management in 1987. Bill serves as senior research analyst specializing in energy.
He has over 45 years of experience researching and analyzing equity securities, with a focus on nearly all facets of the energy industry. In prior positions, Mr. Ferer was a senior energy analyst and portfolio manager for Fred Alger Management Co., a petroleum industry analyst for F. Eberstadt & Co., Inc., and as a security analyst for Fidelity Bank.
Mr. Ferer has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Rodney Rebello joined Reaves Asset Management in 2020. Rodney serves as an analyst responsible for covering the utility sector. He came to Reaves with investment experience from both the buy side and the sell side.
Prior to joining the firm, he served as a market neutral long/short fundamental research analyst at Millennium Management focusing on electric & gas utilities. He began his career at Citigroup Global Markets where he worked as an energy, utilities, power and renewables sector specialist as well as an event driven research analyst focused on merger arbitrage, spin-offs and special situations.
Rodney received a B.S. in Management with concentration in Finance from Binghamton University.
Dan Triggs joined Reaves Asset Management in 2006. He serves as the head trader. Prior to Reaves, he worked for Janney Montgomery Scott, Deutsche Bank, and Eaton Vance Management.
Mr. Triggs is a graduate of Hobart College.
David joined Reaves Asset Management in 1997 and has more than 43 years of experience in the investment industry. After serving as Reaves’ Chief Compliance Officer for over 17 years, he was named as Chief Operating Officer in July 2019. Prior to joining Reaves, he held the position of Financial and Operations Principal for three firms, acting as the Chief Compliance Officer for two of those organizations.
David has a B.A. from Fordham University, and holds the FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
Stephen Gavlick joined Reaves Asset Management in July 2022 and has more than 26 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to Reaves, he held the position of Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at MacKay Shields LLC. Stephen has previously held senior compliance positions at Seix Investment Advisors and UBS Global Asset Management.
Stephen has a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Selina M. O’Neil joined Reaves Asset Management’s Compliance Department in March 2020. She has over 3 years of experience in the investment industry and her background includes investment adviser consulting and other in-house experience.
Selina has a B.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso, and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. She also has the FINRA Series 7 and 24 securities licenses.
Daniel joined Reaves Asset Management in 2019. Prior to joining Reaves, Daniel was Senior Operations Specialist at New Amsterdam Partners LLC for 15 years. Previously, Daniel held various Operations positions at hedge funds.
Daniel received his undergraduate degree from New York University.
Tom Grimes originally joined the investment team at Reaves Asset Management in 1992 as a telecommunications analyst and added the role of portfolio manager from 1997 to 2004. He returned to Reaves in 2014 and in January 2020 became the firm’s Director of Investor Relations.
Tom began his career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company and Philadelphia National Bank as a credit analyst and commercial banker. Subsequently, he worked as an investment banker at the firm of Waller Capital Corporation where he focused on merger and acquisition activity in the cable television industry.
Tom received his undergraduate degree in Finance from Georgetown University. He holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 licenses.

Joe joined Reaves Asset Management in 2009 as one of the Firm’s traders and has been a member of our Investor Relations team since 2020. He previously worked in the finance/real estate group at Dechert LLP.
Joe received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and an MBA degree from Fordham University.
Tom joined Reaves Asset Management in 1998. He has served as the firm’s Chief Technology Officer since 2005. Tom is Chairman of the Cybersecurity Oversight Group and the Reaves Disaster Recovery Task Force. Previously, he held the position of MIS manager.
Tom served on the AUG (Advent Users Group) board for 6 years, including President for one year.
Before joining Reaves, Tom was a project leader for Panasonic Corp. in Secaucus, NJ.
Tom is author of “101 Ways to Use Technology to be Closer with your Child”. He holds the CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) and PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications.
Meghan joined Reaves Asset Management in 2012. She works with the Investor Relations and Client Service team. Her responsibilities include creating the firm’s marketing materials and assisting with various investor relations activities.
Meghan received an undergraduate degree from Monmouth University and holds the FINRA Series 6 and 65 licenses.
Meghan Dolan is registered with Foreside Fund Services, LLC which is not affiliated with W.H. Reaves & Co., Inc. (dba Reaves Asset Management) or its affiliates.
Ken joined Reaves Asset Management in 1988. He worked in the Backoffice/Operations department from 1988-1995, and was an assistant oil and gas analyst from 1995-2000.
Since 2001, his responsibilities include overseeing the installation and maintenance of network hardware and software.
John Sessions joined Reaves Asset Management in 2023. He brings fifteen years of trading and operational experience from both the buy and sell side. He joined Reaves from Deccan Value Investors L.P., a Greenwich Connecticut based multi-billion dollar global equity hedge fund and previously worked at J.P. Morgan in the Equity Derivatives Group in New York. He started his career with T. Rowe Price.
John is a graduate of Colgate University.
